New 2018 revision of the ANSI/ASHRAE/ACCA Standard 180

ASHRAE and ACCA (the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, respectively) revised their ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Standard 180, covering Standard Practice for Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systems this year.

You can see ASHRAE’s own summary of the new standard here.

The new 2018 version is the first revision of the original 2012 standard.  It was updated because of new technology which has emerged in the last six years, and because of feedback from people who have been using the 2012 standard.

One of our trade associations, the National Air Duct Cleaning Association (NADCA, at www.nadca.com ) published an excellent article about the new standard in its bimonthly magazine, DucTales.  That summary is behind their Members Only wall, but with NADCA’s permission we are attaching a .pdf file of the article.  We hope you find it useful.
