Air Duct Cleaning - How & Why

What are Air Ducts?

Air Ducts are used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to deliver and remove air. These needed airflows include, for example, supply air, return air, and exhaust air. Ducts also deliver, most commonly as part of the supply air, ventilation air. As such, air ducts are one method of ensuring acceptable indoor air quality as well as thermal comfort. A duct system is often called ductwork.

Did you know?

Most business owners have no idea what goes on inside their office air ducts. But the fact is, they can become clogged up with years of dirt, debris, and allergens like pollen, dust and also dead skin tissues. Yuck Right?

Why Clean it?

A dirty HVAC system must work harder and longer to maintain required temperatures. After proper cleaning, the ventilation system will run at a much higher level of efficiency, cutting your overhead and helping your company’s bottom line breather a little easier.

Poor air quality, distributed through the ductwork, contaminated with dust, molds, dirt and other irritating residues, can create health hazards and make breathing uneasy and difficult. After a visit from Airways Systems, the air you and your co-workers breathe every day will then be cleaner.

How Often? NADCA Standards

Industry standards recommend that you have your air ducts inspected every 2 years (annually in hospitals) for contamination and have them cleaned, on average, every 5-7 years. Of course, this will vary with the conditions of your office building as well as your field of business. If they are contaminated then you should clean them immediately.

What do we clean?

The interior surfaces of the supply and any return ductwork to the level agreed upon between yourself and Airways.
